A question for Dr. Finn: If sex occurs prior to ovulation, how long can the little swimmers “tread water” while waiting for their date to arrive? Hours? Days?
Good question! After ovulation, the egg is only viable for 24 hours. Sperm can live for 72 hours so if you want to get pregnant, have sex 3 days prior to ovulation. You can calculate ovulation by counting back 14 days from the first day of menstrual bleeding (I know – you need a bit of a crystal ball for that!)
Karen and I will be at your party on Feb 7, maybe with a couple of good friends from out of town. Hope that is cool. I am so excited for you and so proud to be friends with an author. Good inspiration for chasing a dream or an idea or….
Hi Pat – Thanks very much – it’s been really fun to share it with enthusiastic friends and family! Absolutely bring your friends to the party! The more the merrier!
