This summer I’ll be sharing romantic ideas with an awesome group of romance authors. I’d like to welcome Linda McLaughlin, author of Lady Elinor’s Escape, a sweet Regency Romance.
Meet Linda McLaughlin ~ Linda grew up with a love of books and history, so it’s only natural she prefers writing historical romance. She loves transporting her readers into the past where her characters learn that, in the journey of life, love is the sweetest reward. Linda also writes steamy to erotic romance under the name Lyndi Lamont, and is one half of the writing team of Lyn O’Farrell.
Here is Linda’s #RomanticIdea ~
“A Jug of Wine, a Loaf of Bread—and Thou” – The Rubáiyát of Omar Khayyám
I love that quote, and it makes me think of romantic summer picnics—at the beach, by a lake, in the mountains or a park—whatever location works best where you live or vacation. But what to pack? Wine, bread, meat and cheese are a given, but don’t forget the summer fruit—ripe red strawberries, lush juicy peaches or crisp apples. There’s nothing like a taste of fruit to sweeten a kiss.
Sounds like a wonderful way to spend time together! Here’s a bit about Lady Elinor’s Escape, a sweet Regency Romance ~
Lady Elinor Ashworth always longed for adventure, but when she runs away from her abusive aunt, she finds more than she bargained for. Elinor fears her aunt who is irrational and dangerous, threatening Elinor and anyone she associates with. When she encounters an inquisitive gentleman, she accepts his help, but fearing for his safety, hides her identity by pretending to be a seamstress. She resists his every attempt to draw her out, all the while fighting her attraction to him
There are too many women in barrister Stephen Chaplin’s life, but he has never been able to turn his back on a damsel in distress. The younger son of a baronet is a rescuer of troubled females, an unusual vocation fueled guilt over his failure to save the woman he loved from her brutal husband. He cannot help falling in love with his secretive seamstress, but to his dismay, the truth of her background reveals Stephen as the ineligible party.

#RomanticIdea with Caroline Clemmons

This summer I’ll be sharing romantic ideas with an awesome group of romance authors. I’d like to welcome Caroline Clemmons, author of Ophelia, the fourth book in her Bride Brigade series.
Meet Caroline Clemmons ~ Caroline Clemmons is an Amazon bestselling and award-winning author of historical and contemporary western romances. A frequent speaker at conferences and seminars, she has taught workshops on characterization, point of view, and layering a novel.
Caroline and her husband live in the heart of Texas cowboy country with their menagerie of rescued pets.
Caroline answered some of the questions I have for awesome authors. Caroline, is there a scene in your story that was inspired by a real life event? C: No, this stuff is all in my weird, active imagination.
Haha. The best kind of imagination to have! What has been the most exciting moment so far in your writing career? C: The first time I saw one of my books on the grocery store book rack back when I was with a traditional publisher. Seeing them in a bookstore or online is a wonderful thing—but the grocery store book rack really thrilled me. My youngest daughter was with me at the time and said, “Wow, Mom, you’ve really made it as an author now.” Not true, but I sure felt like I was on my way at that time!
Or the local drug store – that would be cool, too. What is your favourite saying? C: “Be the change you wish to see in this world,” by Ghandi
Love it. If you had to pick a song to be your theme song what would it be? C: The optimistic song “Tomorrow” from the musical “Annie”.
What would you pick as a superpower? C: Writing! I can make my characters leap tall buildings with a single bound, fly, go forward or back in time, do whatever I wish. Even better, I don’t get in trouble for any of this.
I think you already have that superpower 😀 What’s your favourite dessert? C: Chocolate anything. LOL Actually, there is this chocolate cake at a local restaurant that has thick chocolate icing served with ice cream, whipped cream, and a cherry that is the most decadent dessert I have ever had and I love it—though we usually share it between three or four of us friends. Served with Dr Pepper to drink, of course.
I’d share that with you! Here is Caroline’s #RomanticIdea ~
Turn off the cell phone and computer.
Talk or watch a sunrise or sunset together.
Spend quality alone time with your significant other.
Whether you cozy up in front of a TV movie or go on a lavish evening out, being together and communicating is what the evening is about.
No matter if you play a game of Scrabble or Bunko, go on a trip, or just sit on the patio doesn’t matter as long as you are enjoying one another’s companionship.
Spending time with a loved one can be powerful and very romantic.
Time is the most precious gift you can give!
Here’s a bit about Caroline’s book OPHELIA, Book 4 in her Bride Brigade Series~
Escape…
A painful past…
Hope for the future…
Ophelia Shipp wants safety, a home, a husband, and to raise a family. To achieve her goal, she travels halfway across the country to a tiny Texas town, Tarnation. What awaits her there must be better than what she left. The future is certain to be better than the past.
Elias Kendrick had a difficult childhood but he has overcome poverty to build his empire in Tarnation. Now that he owns a successful saloon and the opera house, he is ready to marry and start a family. He’s vowed his children’s life will be different from his—if only he can find the right woman.

#RomanticIdea with Stacy Juba
Posted July 7, 2016 By Linda
This summer I’ll be sharing romantic ideas with an awesome group of romance authors. Today I’d like to welcome Stacy Juba, author of Fooling Around with Cinderella, the first book in her Storybook Valley series. And I’m over visiting her blog HERE.
Meet Stacy Juba ~ Stacy Juba got engaged at Epcot Theme Park and spent part of her honeymoon at Disneyland Paris, where she ate a burger, went on fast rides, and threw up on the train ride to the hotel. In addition to working on her Storybook Valley chick lit/sweet romance series, Stacy has written books about ice hockey, teen psychics, U.S. flag etiquette for kids, and determined women sleuths. She has had a novel ranked as #5 in the Nook Store and #30 on the Amazon Kindle Paid List. When she’s not visiting theme parks with her family, (avoiding rides that spin and exotic hamburgers), or writing about them, Stacy helps authors to strengthen their manuscripts through her Crossroads Editing Service. She is currently writing the next book in the Storybook Valley Series, Prancing Around With Sleeping Beauty.
Here is Stacy’s summer #RomanticIdea ~ Go to a theme park and try these romantic ideas:
- Snuggle up on slow rides such as the train.
- Kiss at the top of the Ferris Wheel at night.
- Share a box of popcorn during a show.
- Get to a show early and relax in the back of the air-conditioned theater.
- Kiss for the ride pictures.
- Enjoy a picnic lunch.
- Go to the park’s nicest restaurant for dinner.
- Have your significant other play games to win you a prize.
- Hold hands while strolling through the park.
- Snuggle up during the fireworks.
Sounds like a romantic day at the park! Here’s a bit about Fooling Around with Cinderella ~
What happens when the glass slippers pinch Cinderella’s toes? When Jaine Andersen proposes a new marketing role to the local amusement park, general manager Dylan Callahan charms her into filling Cinderella’s glass slippers for the summer. Her reign transforms Jaine’s ordinary life into chaos that would bewilder a fairy godmother. Secretly dating her bad boy boss, running wedding errands for her ungrateful sisters, and defending herself from the park’s resident villain means Jaine needs lots more than a comfy pair of shoes to restore order in her kingdom. First in the Storybook Valley series, a blend of sweet romance, chick lit, and fairy tale fun.
