InĀ Perfectly Christmas, the staff at the Medical and Surgical Clinic in Strathaven swap some cool homemade gifts for their Secret Santa. In case you havenāt finished your Christmas shopping, hereās anĀ idea for a pretty table setting!
A gift of a tablecloth and napkins is handy all year round especially if you donāt limit yourself to the traditional Christmas colours. I love setting a table, it’s a hobby of mine, and thought Iād share some of my Christmas table settings.

This is my table this year. I saw these pretty pink ornaments at Michaels and loved them. It’s such a soft and elegant colour. They paired it with gold, but I tried it with navy blue and silver.

I found the glass presents in vibrant colours at The Christmas Shoppe at Riley’s Garden Centre. They’re great to use for birthday celebrations, too. The shimmering Christmas trees add sparkle and are a great size for a centerpiece. I’ve used the trees and presents with different coloured chargers.

A red tablecloth is handy for Christmas, but also for Valentine’s Day and Canada Day. A red accent colour pops against white – and blue adds a bit of cool fun!
Raise a glass to family and good friends getting together to share love and laughter during the holiday season – no matter what the table looks like! š

On the first day of Christmas, his true love said to him, āSorry, I have to work.ā
Thatās the life of a surgeon, and Dr. Madison Hayes wouldnāt have it any other way.
Dr. Quinn Malone has another priority. In the countdown to Christmas, he needs to convince his old flame that thereās more to life ā and love ā than the job itself.
This time, his heart is in it for the long haul. Really.

My son made this picture frame for me and I love it! Iāve included a cool photo taken by photographer Nicolette McGraw of a Christmas winter on the lake. Beautiful! We werenāt big on getting the traditional photos with Santa, but we did take a yearly photo of the Christmas tree. The kids werenāt allowed to go in to see what Santa brought until Dad snapped a photo or two. Fun times!
Do you have a favourite Christmas photo?

AĀ playlist of Christmas favourites can lift your mood and get your toes tapping or provide a sing along while you trim the tree or get the holiday baking done (not that I have experience with the latter :D) I love What Christmas Means to MeĀ by CeeLo Green. We dance to it at Zumba – I love its energy!
Here’s one I recently saw on Youtube. The voices of The Singing Contractors are rich and full.
Wow – music can be powerful! What songs would you include on a playlist of your favourites tunes?

In Perfectly Christmas, the staff at the Medical and Surgical Clinic in Strathaven swap some cool homemade gifts for their Secret Santa. In case you havenāt finished your Christmas shopping, hereās an adorably angelic idea!
Make a keepsake angel ornament for the favourite person on your list.Ā Hereās what youāll need:
White felt and coloured felt for the face and hands
Copper wire for the halo, copper thread for the string
Ribbon for the wings
3 white buttons, 11 gold beads, thread for eyes and mouth
stuffing batt
glue gun

Using the pattern, cut 2 pieces of felt for the face, arms, hands, and body. Sew the buttons and beads one of the body pieces. Use a backstitch to make the smile and eyes on one of the face pieces. Match the pieces and using a blanket stitch, sew the 2 pieces together. Before closing the body and face, put a bit of stuffing inside. Before closing the arms, insert the hands. Glue the arms and head on the body.
For the wings, fold a piece of ribbon and glue onto the back of the body.
For short hair, snip a fringe in a piece of felt. For long hair, take a strip of felt, wet it and wrap it around a knitting needle until it dries (overnight or on a heat register. Use masking tape to hold the ends. You could also use a double metal-tipped knitting needle and put it in the oven on the lowest temp, but be careful. Don’t burn the house down making angel hair.). Attach the hair to the top of the head.
For the halo, shape the thin copper wire into a paddle shape and bend the end at 90 degrees. Poke the end of the paddle into the head.
Thread a piece of copper thread into the back of the head and tie the ends so you can hang your ornament on the tree.
You can make the angel ornament any size. A homemade angel made with love. Itās the perfect Christmas gift. š

Made some truffles and donāt want to use the usual boring box? Make a truffle tree!

Take a Styrofoam cone and use toothpicks to attach the truffles. Decorate with leaf sprigs and little tiny ornaments ā like a Christmas tree. Isnāt that cute? And tasty. You might even want to take those store-bought truffles out of the box. š
Does anyone have a favourite truffle recipe to share?

In Perfectly Christmas, the Strathaven Medical and Surgical Clinic staff are counting down the days to Christmas with a Secret Santa gift exchange. Guess who Madison has to buy for? šPeggy, the clinic manager, stopped at the door. āOh, one more thing. Did you want to be a part of the office secret Santa? We pick names out of a hat, and each day during the twelve days of Christmas, someone opens a gift.ā She grinned. āTechnically, we know, the twelve days of Christmas starts on December twenty-fifth, but we use it as a countdown to Christmas. We have a lot of fun with it.ā
Madison hesitated. She wasnāt really big into exchanging presents. Stuff you didnāt need and wanted less. But Peggy was looking at her like it was the best thing ever.
Small town. Two years. Try to fit in. She sighed. She could always ask her sister for suggestions. āOkay, yeah. Sounds fun.ā Translate stressful.
Peggyās grin widened. āIāll be right back.ā
After a moment, Peggy returned carrying a Christmas bag. She shook it and paper rustled inside. āHere you go. Pick one, but donāt tell us.ā
Madison held back a sigh, reached in the bag, and picked out a piece of paper.
She unfolded it and her heart sank.
Quinn Malone. Dec. 24.
