Day 6 Cover Reveal! #MFRWHooks

Posted January 29, 2020 By Linda

So excited to show you the cover for Don’t Drop the Baby! It’s dropping on Feb. 4!

Here’s a bit about Don’t Drop the Baby ~

Dr. Brogan Corkie is happily semi-retired from medicine and now has time for other hobbies. Her passion for food is only second to her skill at matchmaking!

Ross Skye, owner of BabyCare, a high-end line of baby merchandise, is injured in an accident, and Brogan uses her cooking, medical – and matchmaking – skills to help him out. Dr. Lauren Kane is taking care of her nephew for two weeks, and Brogan agrees to babysit while Lauren is at work.

Two years ago, Ross and Lauren dated. At that time, Lauren wanted kids, but Ross wasn’t keen. Now the tables have turned, and Ross is trying to convince Lauren that they’d make an awesome parenting team. Brogan suggests they test drive parenthood by looking after a simulated baby for a week – a computerized version that eats, sleeps, wets, and cries. Ross and Lauren experience the “joy” of having a newborn firsthand, and the bar is set pretty low. Their first goal is: don’t drop the baby. The second goal is to find out if their love for each other will survive the test of…parenting.

Don’t Drop the Baby will be released on Feb. 4. It’ll be 99cents – a bargooooon! Here’s the buy link: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0847SFBFV

Day 7 of the Countdown!

Posted January 28, 2020 By Linda

Day 7 of the 10 -day Countdown: Meet Ross Skye!

Hey, how’s it going? I’m Ross Skye, owner and CEO of BabyCare, a company that designs, manufactures, and sells a whole line of upscale baby products. I started the company after finishing university. It’s a bit ironic that I ended up making a living from baby products when – I don’t advertise this too broadly – I don’t have and don’t ever have plans to have kids of my own. I studied engineering and one of the competitions we had at school involved designing a functional and safe high chair. My team won the competition and the direction of my future was nailed. I went on to build a team of talented designers, engineers, and marketing professionals, and BabyCare was born. I’ve settled in Mapleton where I grew up – raised by Hampton Shorley. He’s my surrogate dad – and still is around to cook and take care of the house. Long hours and hard work are needed to build a successful company – and having Hampton around leaves me time for it. If you’re in Mapleton – and you have kids – drop by. We’re always looking for product testers. Better yet, look for BabyCare products wherever high-end baby merchandise is sold and support Mapleton. Until then, have a good one.

Day 8 of the Countdown!

Meet Dr. Lauren Kane from Don’t Drop the Baby!

Hi Everyone – Lauren here! I’m so pleased to meet you. I’m a geriatrician in Mapleton, a small town in Ontario. My favourite part of the job is visiting the elderly in their homes. I can learn so much about how their lifestyle affects their health. It certainly keeps me busy! I’m happily single and don’t have any children of my own, but I love spoiling my nephew who lives with my sister and brother-in-law in Mapleton. Joey is eleven months old – my how quickly they grow – and he’s lots of fun to be around (until I lose his beloved giraffe then not so much haha). Dr. Brogan Corkie and I have mutual patients – and I’ve heard that she’s traded in her stethoscope to cook up romance and fun. I’m hoping she’ll be able to help me out and babysit Joey for a couple of afternoons. She can save the matchmaking for someone else. Shoot me an email if you’re visiting Mapleton – I’ll show you around!

Day 9 of the 10-day Countdown!

Posted January 26, 2020 By Linda

Don’t Drop the Baby is dropping on Feb. 4. Meet Dr. Brogan Corkie!

Well, this is certainly a pleasure! I’m Dr. Brogan Corkie. I’m a mother, a doctor, and by far the most fun, an amateur chef. I’ve been experimenting with recipes for years using my two children, Mae and Finn, as guinea pigs. They’re onto me now, though, and it’s harder to convince them that the substitutions I make are going to be just as tasty. They generally are. 😀

They know me well at the International Market, a small grocery store within walking distance to my home in Mapleton, Ontario. I love to try unusual ingredients!

I’ve been a family physician for forty years now, and I’m thinking of paring back my hours at the clinic to make more time in the kitchen. My fridge and freezer are getting mighty full, so I may need to branch out and find more victims…er…taste testers. I always thought it might be fun to start a catering business, maybe combine my medical skills with my cooking skills and help people who are laid up at home, recovering from an illness or injury. It’s a possibility, but for now, I’m just going to sit back, relax, and try out that new recipe I saw online using pawpaw fruit and ginger. Sounds delicious…and who knows, maybe it’ll inspire a little love. I know just the couple who could use a little push in that direction. 😉 Stick with me, and we’ll see what mischief we can get up to!

New Series!

Posted January 25, 2020 By Linda

Countdown Day 10!

It’s the start of another Countdown!! I’m so excited to introduce a new series – Dr. Brogan Corkie, Matchmaking Doctor. I’ve been busy working on this series for the past year. I originally had the idea for this story two years ago – to have a doctor who has “upgraded” her MD from Medical Doctor to Matchmaking Doctor. Brogan is the catalyst – she brings couples together and then through good advice and a warm heart she weaves her magic to make love happen. And throughout the series, Brogan’s own heart gets tangled up in romance, too! Medicine – it’s a work of heart.

I’m excited to share a little bit about the first book in the series ~ Don’t Drop the Baby:

Ross Skye, owner of BabyCare, a high-end line of baby merchandise, is injured in an accident, and Brogan uses her cooking, medical – and matchmaking – skills to help him out. Dr. Lauren Ross is taking care of her nephew for two weeks, and Brogan agrees to babysit while Lauren is at work.
