Perfectly Skeptical – coming Aug 1, 2017!

Posted April 16, 2017 By Linda

I’m so excited to share the cover of my next story in the Perfectly Series. Perfectly Skeptical, a Perfectly novella, will be released August 1, 2017 as part of the awesome Tropical Tryst Boxed Set! Can’t wait for you to join Brianna and Matt on Little Cayman Island! 😀

Dr. Brianna Scott looked forward to sleeping away her staycation, until a lucky windfall meant an upgrade to palm trees, an ocean view . . . and the sexy Dr. Matt Gaelen. She’ll play and have fun, but can a holiday fling really turn into a soul mate for life? Doubtful.

Matt has no radar for sniffing out gold-diggers and protecting his heart. Until now. Brianna is more turned off than turned on by his wealth. What are his chances of getting her to overlook it? Dubious at best.

Improbable and uncertain, iffy and unlikely – the typical path to love. Perfectly Skeptical…love when you least expect it.

It’s a Tuesday Treat ~ Welcome New York Times Bestselling author Denise Swanson with her small-town contemporary romance, Lucky Girl Hits the Jackpot! It’s third book in her Change of Heart series.

The Change of Heart series — small town friends who all need a fresh start and a change of outlook in order to find their forever loves.
Lucky Girl Hits the Jackpot (Book 3, Change of Heart Series)
The last place Delaney Smallwood ever expects to find herself is at the Illinois State Lottery office, holding a check with more zeros than she’s ever seen before. The last person cynical attorney Spencer DeWitt ever expects to be attracted to is a quixotic millionaire schoolteacher. The last thing either wants is a relationship. Can kisses hotter than a Midwest July thrust two such opposite people into a forever kind of love?

Denise Swanson will be giving away a signed copy of Lucky Girl Hits the Jackpot to a reader in the United States. Leave a comment (click on the Read More) for a chance to win. Good Luck! And you can hop over to Denise’s Facebook page to win a signed copy of Perfectly Honest!

Gardening Tip ~ crush egg shells and scatter them around plants susceptible to snails or slugs. The little critters won’t be able to climb on the leaves 😀

Recipe ~ I always associate spring with salad. Here are the recipes for my versatile salad dressings. I throw together spinach, dried cranberries or cherries, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, feta cheese, and one of these delicious dressings. They’re also wonderful on potato salad and roasted vegetables. Bon appetit!

Spring Dressing: 4 Tbsp olive oil, 1 Tbsp red wine vinegar, 1 tsp grainy mustard, 1 tsp honey, 1 tsp lemon juice.

Apple Butter Dressing: 4 Tbsp olive oil, 1 Tbsp white wine vinegar, 1 Tbsp apple butter

Perfectly Together

Newly graduated naturopathic doctor Jayden Locke has a dream – start a practice in small-town Emerson and never move again. She’s found the perfect office building to buy. It passes an inspection, design plans are drawn up, and the bank okays the loan. Only one problem.

Dr. Cole Cameron scoops it before she has a chance to submit an offer. What? It’s a good investment. Cole isn’t interested in settling down. He works three jobs in three different towns and would just as soon keep moving. But something about Jayden’s defiant eyes and sexy smile makes him pause and reconsider.

What are the chances that a heart filled with wanderlust and a soul longing for a home fit Perfectly Together?

Sharing the Awesome Author ~ Madison Michael

Posted March 30, 2017 By Linda

My life is filled with love and laughter thanks to the amazing people I get to hang out with. As well as being awesome, they’re creative, talented, generous, and fun! I thought you might like to meet some of the authors I know, so I’ve asked them to come and give us a behind-the-scenes look at what they’re passionate about. I have to warn you though – creativity is contagious!

Today I’d like to introduce Madison Michael, a fellow contemporary romance author.

Meet Madison ~ She traded 28 years in Fortune 500 companies for sassy heroines, sexy, rich heroes and nothing but happy endings. The daughter of a librarian, she learned to love books, especially classics and romances, and spent childhood winters cuddled under blankets losing herself in booksShe lives in Evanston, IL with two feline editorial assistants and great views of Chicago’s famous skyline.

Madison, what genre do you write? M: I write contemporary romance. Romance because I love writing happy endings. It seems that life is tough enough. I find I need to escape reality now and then and I believe my readers need that same escape and entertainment. Contemporary because I love modern Chicago, strong women and hunky sexy guys, and writing a little hot sex. But I do have a time travel book up my sleeve that is a little less contemporary.

I definitely read to escape, too! Is there anything you learned when writing the story? M: Oh my yes. I learn from researching every book. For “Bedeviled” I learned about marathon running, new Chicago restaurants, some corporate law and even surfing. I had worked with a stylist once, so I added her to the story, but I asked her a ton of questions before she joined my characters. So, I learned more about her too.

I love that you never stop learning when you write ~ about the craft or the characters. If you could do one thing over differently what would you do? M: In life or in this book? I think about the question in life often – I might have gone to a smaller, private college where I could have stood out and stood up more instead of getting lost in the crowd. “Bedeviled” went through numerous rewrites thanks to great editing and thoughtful beta readers. I wouldn’t change it now. I am happy with the book.

A lot of students are choosing which university to attend next year, so that’s timely insight for them to consider. Any advice for aspiring writers? M: Write, write, write. Do not be afraid to start. Do not listen to that little voice that says you can’t do it. The difference between an aspiring writer (and there are plenty of them out there) and a writer is just actually doing the work. Do the work then get a great editor. Also, start with something shorter so you can see your published work faster. It will encourage you to keep going.

Positive reinforcement! 😀 What song would be your theme song? M: Madness by Muse

I think Stephanie Myer was inspired by Muse when writing the Twilight series! What would you pick as a superpower? M: Eating without gaining any weight.

Ooh, good one – especially desserts haha. What’s your favourite dessert?  M: Oh, how to choose just one? Coconut cake I guess, a really big piece of coconut cake with lots of layers and oodles of frosting.

Madison is excited to share her latest release, Bedeviled (Book 3 in the Beguiling Bachelor Series)
